My Story

I’m Nicole — Gen X, born in ’76, navigating midlife with a focus on feeling good, keeping things simple, and choosing what actually works.

This site is for people who want a more realistic approach to midlife wellness, daily routines, and life in general – without the hype, the hustle or pretending everything is perfect.

In 2018, after my first mammogram at 41 I was diagnosed with ER/PR positive, Her2 negative, stage 3 breast cancer. I underwent a double mastectomy, multiple reconstruction surgeries, and 5 months of intensive chemo (yes my hair all fell out!). In July of 2019, I had my ovaries removed, which put me into medical menopause overnight. Along with taking 5 years of aromatase inhibitors, I had an difficult time getting through menopause (wait an I still in it, or am I done?) but found some things that worked to alleviate some of the symptoms along the way.

That experience fundamentally changed how I approach life and my health. I’m not interested in extremes, fear-based messaging, or chasing the next anti-aging solution at the expense of my health. I care about what supports the body and mind long-term.

I earned my certificate as a certified holistic nutritionist for my own benefit to find answers to what was going on with my body. I keep my routines simple, try to focus on consistency which is a struggle with my self-diagnosed ADHD that has surfaced. Gifted and Talented kid here!

This year (2026) I am turning 50!! So happy to still be alive and finally getting back some energy, grateful for all that my healing journey has taught me. Currently figuring out the next phase of life, because sitting at a desk for the next 15-17 years is not it. Planning for the future is hard as a cancer survivor because I know how important the present is, but as a single person I only have myself to count on for the future so on a journey to figure out that balance. Last year I bought a campervan so I could travel more and get out and enjoy nature, so I’m still figuring out how that all fits into this life.

You will find a mix:

Midlife wellness and supplements I personally use

Minimal, non-toxic skin care

Comfortable, put together clothing

Life on the road and camper van travel

Simple habits the support energy, recovery, and clarity

I share products transparently, with clear affiliate disclosures, and only link to things I personally use and trust.

If you are Gen X, a little tired, fluent in sarcasm, yet still optimistic, and interested in navigating this phase of life with intention – you are in the right place.
